Health?

Fitness has always been in my life since I was a little girl, but the "health" concept is a new development. I use to be that girl that could eat a whole pizza and not gain 15 pounds, and I though as long as I worked out hard I could eat whatever I wanted! Well, my mental and physical state said differently. Even though I didn't look "overweight" my gut, brain, and other organs were crying for help!
The realization started, when I was 25 and I was drinking 3-4 cups of coffee a day, crashing at 3 pm, and then fighting falling asleep behind the wheel on my drive home from work. I longed for the days where I had so much energy and I would wake up starving! I no longer had this and I refused to believe it's just a part of "getting older".
So one day, I decided to change this and now I feel like a kid again! (Some days, I mean I still go to bed at 9 pm on a weekend.)

What’s your why? Why do you come to the gym? . . Is it too relieve stress? Weight loss? Competing? Gain strength? To connect with like-minded people? To show off your new fitness kicks!? 😄 . . . Knowing your why is important in all aspects of your life, including your health. So many of us get in a rut of the same ol’ routine when it comes to working out, and we kind of lose ourself. We lose our passion, our purpose, our joy. It’s okay that this happens, but when it does, take a step back and ask why you showed up for the 5am class? This is ‘Mindful Working Out’. Being mindful of your WHY, sets the intentions for that workout. So you’re just not floating through the workout and moving some weight around because your Coach told you too. NO- you’re here because of _________, and that means you’re going to modify/push/strategize/rest accordingly! . . Knowing your why, also keeps you in “your lane”. What I mean is, you stop caring and comparing yourself, and workouts, to your compadre next to you! How much weight they move or how fast they’re going has NO EFFECT on your why, and is NOT going to get you to your why! So stay in your DAMN lane! Hi There! 👋 I’m a 28 year old Quitter, who are you? I am proud to say that I am an experienced Quitter. 😄 Quitting frequently comes with a lot of negative feedback, which can make someone feeling guilty and negative about their decision. But what if quitting is not always negative? I have quit many things in my life: relationships, jobs, food, habits, sports, hobbies, and I’m sure so many more! Not all of them were bad or toxic, sure, it’s easy to quit something that is toxic for you and your health, no-brainer! But what if it’s a hobby that you used to be passionate about, and has now turned into a job/task? When the line is a little blurry and gray, it is sometimes difficult to know what action to take. Then combined with guilt, because you invested time/money into this, you hang on to it and let it drain your energy! Blah 🤢 Well, if you need permission to quit (________), then go ahead! Quitting something that drains your energy, in a negative way is simple. Here’s how it goes: * Take a few deep breaths * Take 5-10 minutes breathing and thinking about quitting ______ * Then, if you feel at peace, you know ✌🏼 * Never return to said energy drainer 👍🏼 Whatever you left behind, was not you, it’s not your identity. What’s for dinner tonight!?! How about an Asian inspired dish, like this random Cashew Pork and Broccoli stir-fry that I whipped up!? Most of my meals are not extravagant and are pretty basic. - ground pork -chopped onions - coconut oil - coconut aminos - broccoli florets - raw cashews - any seasoning you want (I used ground ginger, red pepper flakes, and sea salt) # Cook the onions in a large skillet in coconut oil. Then add the ground pork, seasoning, and then broccoli for about 8-10 minutes. Add cashews last 2-3 minutes. 💥Dinner is freakin’ served! These types of dishes are my jam! They require little effort and thought, who’s with me!? 🙋🏻‍♀️
I was unable to make the gym yesterday so I did a modified workout version at home! Here’s the dets: - 10 Min EMOM 4 single-leg deadlifts (8 total) - 8 Min AMRAP of 10 Burpee Door frame slaps 😆 and 20 DB Lunges (20#) - 5X5 DB Good Mornings # I love a good home workout but nothing beats the gym when it comes to challenging yourself. I was so excited about seeing this at my local Wal-Mart that I have it an “Eek” and hopped to the butter! # Finding @vitalfarms products at my local grocery store is HUGE! Well, at least, huge for me! Not only is it rare to find high quality, ethical, and pasture-raised/grass-fed products in my town, but the demand is very low. So much, that our one and ONLY health store closed down. 😞 # So, to have access to high quality, antibiotic, pasture raised, and hormone free dairy and eggs is SO EXCITING!
